TERMS OF SERVICE

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By using atlaslanguage.school, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may NOT use the Service.
2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
Atlas Language School is a platform that connects you with independent freelance language teachers.
IMPORTANT: We are NOT a traditional school:
– We do not issue official language certificates
– We are not responsible for the quality of teaching
– Teachers are independent professionals (not our employees)
– You are responsible for choosing a qualified teacher
– Results depend on your own effort and commitment
3. REGISTRATION & ACCOUNT
3.1 Your Responsibility:
– You must provide true, accurate information
– You are responsible for keeping your password confidential
– You must notify us immediately if your account is compromised
– You may only have ONE account per person
– You must be at least 18 years old (or have parental consent if under 18)
3.2 Account Deactivation:
– You can deactivate your account at any time
– Your data will remain accessible for 30 days
– After 30 days, data will be permanently deleted (except where legally required)
4. PERMITTED & PROHIBITED USE
You ARE permitted to:
✓ Book lessons with teachers
✓ Message teachers to arrange lessons
✓ Leave honest ratings and reviews
✓ Download receipts and invoices
✓ Export your data
You ARE NOT permitted to:
✗ Hack, attack, or attempt to breach the platform
✗ Scrape or collect other users’ data
✗ Send spam or harass other users
✗ Post illegal, hateful, or violent content
✗ Attempt fraud or chargebacks
✗ Sell your account or credentials
✗ Copy or steal our website code/design
✗ Bypass payment systems
✗ Impersonate another person
VIOLATION = Immediate account suspension without refund.
5. PAYMENTS & REFUNDS
5.1 How Payment Works:
– You pay via Stripe (encrypted and secure)
– Funds are held by Atlas Language School
– Atlas retains a commission
– Remaining amount paid to the teacher after lesson completion
5.2 Refund Policy:
– Cancel 24+ hours before lesson → 100% refund
– Cancel 12-24 hours before lesson → 50% refund
– Cancel less than 12 hours before → NO REFUND
– If teacher no-shows → 100% refund
5.3 Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumer Protection):
If you are an EU resident, you have **14 calendar days** to withdraw:
– Submit withdrawal request: support@atlaslanguage.school
– Refund processed within 14 days (minus any bank fees)
– EXCEPTION: Right to withdraw does NOT apply once you have started lessons
6. LIABILITY & LIMITATIONS
6.1 What We Are NOT Responsible For:
– Quality of teaching provided
– Whether teachers show up or not
– Whether you achieve your language learning goals
– User-to-user messages and disputes
– Viruses or malware on your device
– Internet connection issues
– Loss or corruption of your data (except due to our negligence)
6.2 Liability Limit:
In case of any claim against us, our liability is limited to the amount YOU paid in the last 30 days.
We are NOT liable for:
– Indirect damages
– Lost profits
– Lost data
– Consequential damages
6.3 Service “AS IS”:
The Service is provided on an “AS-IS” basis without warranties:
– We do not guarantee 100% uptime
– We may have occasional downtime for maintenance
– Features may change at any time
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
– Our site design, logo, and content are owned by Atlas Language School
– Your lesson recordings are yours to keep
– You cannot copy, sell, or distribute lesson content without permission
– Screenshots/recordings are for personal use only
9. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may modify these Terms at any time:
– We will notify you via email
– If you disagree, you have 30 days to deactivate your account
– Continued use after the change = acceptance of new terms
10. ACCOUNT TERMINATION
We may deactivate your account if:
– You violate these Terms
– Engaging in illegal or inappropriate behavior
– Harassing or abusing other users
– Fraud or false payment attempts
– Inactivity for more than 2 years
You can delete your account at any time by requesting: contact@atlaslanguage.school
11. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
If you have a problem:
- Contact contact@atlaslanguage.school
- We will respond within 48 hours
- We will attempt to resolve the issue
- If unresolved: Mediation (not court litigation)
- EU consumers: May use EU’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform
12. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by SPANISH law.
Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Spain.
However, if you are an EU consumer, you are protected by the consumer laws of your own country.
13. MISCELLANEOUS
– If any part of these Terms is found illegal, the rest remains valid
– Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver
– You are solely responsible for your use of the Service
– There is no partnership or employment relationship between you and Atlas
